Turning Packaging Into
Spatial Identity

NIKO JUNE is a Copenhagen based artist collective defined by expressive form, material curiosity and a sculptural way of seeing the world. Their work is bold yet sensitive, playful yet intentional. But as the brand began moving toward a more premium market position, their packaging was not keeping pace. It protected the objects, but it did not participate in the universe that made the objects special. It served a purpose, but it did not tell a story.
We identified a core challenge. The brand’s creative identity was powerful, but the packaging system was not amplifying it. It lacked the physical presence, the structural logic and the emotional tension that make Niko June feel so distinct. Without a clear packaging experience, the brand risked underselling its own artistic value long before a product reached someone’s home.
Our task was to close that gap. To create packaging that carried the same sculptural intelligence as the objects inside. The solution began with a modular structural system built on a strict set of shared proportions. Inspired by the logic of a Rubik’s cube and the simplicity of a Lego brick, every size relates to every other. This creates a seamless architecture that can be built, stacked and reshaped in endless variations. Packaging becomes a creative material. It becomes part of the space rather than something to discard.
Visually, the system is anchored in an oversized NIKO JUNE wordmark that wraps across surfaces with intention. It is always present, yet rarely shown in full. This creates a sense of abstraction and movement that mirrors the brand’s own approach to form. Bold, but never literal. Clear, but always with a twist. The identity becomes something you experience spatially rather than simply read.
The unboxing experience follows the same philosophy. Instead of generic fillers, each layer feels curated, tactile and considered. Soft bags, sculptural inserts and refined materials slow the moment down. They create a sense of anticipation and care. Every interaction reinforces the idea that the object inside is not just purchased but discovered.

By transforming packaging into a sculptural system, we helped Niko June express its evolving premium ambition while staying true to its artist collective roots.
